It turns out that the classic movie Airplane! is basically a remake of a serious movie called Zero Hour, so just to get that straight, they shot the movie pretty much with the same scenes and dialogue, adding a few visual jokes and a smattering of puns but otherwise it’s a straight(ish) remake.

This short was made for the 2007 72 Hour Film Festival in Frederick, Maryland. All of the clips used in this film came from a reel of 35mm nitrate found in an old theater somewhere in Pennsylvania.

The projectionist clipped these scenes to meet local moral standards of the time. Will our current forms of censorship look just as ridiculous to future generations?
